The declaration identifies specific goals & targets to be achieved within a period of 10 years. The targets include ending hunger, tripling intra-African trade in agricultural goods and services, enhancing resilience of livelihoods and production systems & and ensuring that agriculture contributes significantly to poverty reduction. The overall approach to facilitating the #MAPLE2021 is to use open participatory methodology that draws from the participants knowledge and inspires inclusive ownership of the results.
